Top 5 CMCO Lifestyle Changes to Improve Your Mood

If you’re feeling frazzled by the current Covid-19 situation, you’re not alone. With all the confusion and paranoia that’s lingering in the community in our new reality, let’s try to be grateful, stay positive, and make the best out of the situation!

With most people working from home, we’ve come up with 5 things that you can do to keep busy (and keep your sanity).

1. Take a Breath

Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds and release in 8 seconds. Do this for 5-10 minutes a day.

Sometimes we’re so caught up with work or thoughts that we forget the simplest things. With minimal oxygen flowing through your brains and blood stream, it may sometimes feel like you’re having an anxiety attack or feel light-headed. Breathing reduces your heart rate, lowers your blood pressure and relaxes your mind.

2. Workout Roulette

Head to YouTube and type “WORKOUT CARDIO”. Click on the first video that pops up and nail that workout! Working out doesn’t just come with all the health benefits. Once your body is pumped full of endorphins from exercise it keeps the mind and skin healthy - we call it the Post-Workout Glow!

3. Plant a Plant!

Try growing your favourite herb. How about basil for your next pasta or mint and sage for your favourite cocktail? Watching something grow can be incredibly therapeutic! And contrary to belief it takes very little work - all you need to do is give it a little water everyday and let it GROW.

Another little self-love tip, start your day with words of self encouragement or motivation before you turn on your laptop. Then take a look at your new beautiful plant and say 5 things that you want to achieve out loud!

4. Cook Your Way to an Amazing Complexion!

Add these ingredients to your next meals to boost your skin health:

  • Red Bell Peppers - These guys contain all-mighty Vitamin C that also strengthens your immune system.

  • Eggs, broccoli, kale - Contains lutein which helps keep your skin hydrated and firm while promoting natural oils for that radiant glow!

  • Salmon - Contains high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids that help reduce inflammation. The vitamin D and antioxidants can also help with acne and rosacea and reduce the risk of skin cancer.

  • Sweet potatoes and mangoes - Full of beta-carotene which helps with skin repair and vitamin A which helps with cell regeneration.

5. Sheet Mask + Netflix!

If you haven’t binged on Crash Landing On You or Emily In Paris, you’re missing out! We rate them an 11/10. The best part is you can use this TV time to sheet mask too!

Put on a sheet mask and enjoy your favourite Netflix movies with your loved ones. Don’t forget to take some selfies of your glowing happy faces for some CMCO memories!

Learn to embrace and make the most of this new reality by trying new things as we spend more quality time at home. Stay safe!
